1) What is the Online
Driver's Permit/Licence System (ODPRS)?
The ODPRS is an online
portal that allows persons to apply and pay for the renewal of their Trinidad
and Tobago issued driver's permit/licence at their convenience.
2) Who can apply?
Persons that meet the following criteria are eligible to apply:
- Persons whose driver's permit/licence falls within the standard renewal period, including as early as exactly three months prior to the listed expiration date.
- Persons whose driver's permit/licence has not expired over 5 years from the listed expiration date.
- Persons with no changes to their driver's permit/licence information (i.e. no name or address changes).
- Holders of driver's
permits/licences with classes 1 (motor cycle), 3 (light motor vehicle) or
1 and 3 only.
- Persons that do not require
a completed medical form for renewal.
- Non-exempted persons
(exempted persons refer to persons that do not currently pay for their
driver's permit/licence renewal transactions, for example: persons aged 60
years and older)
3) How do I apply for
my driver's permit/licence renewal online?
- Visit https://driverslicenseservices.mowt.gov.tt/ &
enter your Driver's Permit/Licence information.
- Upload a copy of your
Driver's Permit/Licence, a recent photo and proof of address (no older than
three months).
- Review your application
& choose how to collect: Home Delivery (TTPost) or TTConnect Pickup.
- Select your preferred
renewal period and see your estimated fees.
- Upload your signature &
agree to the declaration.
- Submit your application!
Receive a confirmation email and wait for approval.
- Once approved, pay online
via debit (once approved by the applicant's issuing bank) or credit card.
- Receive your new driver's
licence via delivery or pickup!
4) What documents are
required to apply?
- Clear photo of applicant
(this will be used on your renewed driver's licence):
- Dimensions: 5.3cm in height, 4.3 cm
in width
- White background
- Head position: straight
- Accepted file formats: jpeg, jpg or
png
- Taken no more than 3 months ago
- Clear photo of signature
(this will be used on your renewed driver's licence):
- White or transparent background
- Minimum width: 300px
- Minimum height: 300px
- Accepted file formats: jpeg, jpg
or png
- Proof of address in the
applicant's name (Utility bill i.e. WASA, T&TEC, Cable or Home
Internet): dated no older than three months from the date of application
or a lease/rental agreement. If the proof of address is not in the
applicant's name:
- Authorization letter from the
person named on the proof of address document
- Copy of one form of national ID
for the named owner
- Scanned copy of the driver's permit/licence to be
renewed.
5) What payment
methods are accepted?
Debit (if enabled by
your issuing bank) and Credit card payments are accepted.
6) I started an
online application but did not complete it before exiting, is the information
lost?
A reference number is
assigned upon completion of the "Personal" and "Contact" information sections of
the application and is sent to you via email. This reference number can be
utilized to retrieve the application via the "Find Application"
feature on the ODPRS home page. Unsubmitted draft applications expire after one
month of their initial creation.
7) How long does the
application review process take before I know if I am approved?
The application
review process may take approximately 1-3 business days to be completed.
8) I received an
email stating my application was queried, what do I do next?
- Using your
application reference number and last name, you can retrieve your application
on the ODPRS via the "Find Application" feature.
- Details of the query
are noted via email as well as on screen on your retrieved application, with
instructions on what needs to be adjusted.
- Make the requested
changes and resubmit your amended application for further processing.
9) My online
application was approved, what do I do next?
You will receive an
email informing you that your application was approved. This email will also
provide a link to complete payment online for your transaction.
Please note: only
after payment is successfully completed will your renewed driver's licence be
generated and sent out for delivery.
10) How will I
receive my renewed driver's licence?
During the
application process, you are prompted to choose one of the following delivery
methods:
- Home delivery via
TTPost; or
- Collection at a
TTConnect Centre. (Licences not collected within a 14 business day period will
be returned to the Caroni licensing office where they can be collected).

12) What do I need to
collect my new driver's licence?
Your current driver's
permit/licence must be surrendered to the TTPost delivery driver or TTConnect
centre agent.
13) Can someone else
collect my renewed driver's licence on my behalf?
Yes. For home deliveries,
the person collecting on your behalf must provide the following
to the delivery driver:
- One form of valid photo ID
in the name of the person authorized to collect the driver's licence.
- A signed authorization
letter (written by the applicant) stating that they are authorized to collect the driver's licence.
For collection at a
TTConnect centre, the person collecting on your behalf must present:
- A signed authorization
letter (written by the applicant) stating that they are authorized to collect the driver's licence.
- A copy of one form of valid
photo ID in the name of the holder of the driver's licence being
collected. The signature on the copy of the ID must be clearly visible.
- One form of valid photo ID
in the name of the person authorized to collect the driver's licence.
The authorized person
must also surrender your current driver's permit/licence to the TTPost delivery
driver or TTConnect centre agent.
14) What would
prevent someone from renewing their Driver's Permit / Licence online?
- Driver's Permits/Licences that have been expired over 5 years from the listed expiration date.
- Driver's Permits/Licences
with classes 2, 4, 5, 6 or 7.
- A medical certificate is
required for your renewal.
- An incorrect driver's permit/licence number is supplied.
- There are inconsistencies
with your driver's permit/licence record.
- There are changes to be made
on the driver's permit/licence, such as change of name, change of address,
or change of restrictions.
15) What are the associated fees with renewing my Driver's Permit/Licence online?
- 5 Year Renewal: $500.00 TTD
- 10 Year Renewal: $1,000.00

16) What are the fees associated with late renewals of Driver's Permits/Licences online?
- Driver's Permits/Licences that have been expired for 6 months or less: $650.00 TTD
- Driver's Permits/Licences that have been expired for more than 6 months but less than 3 years: $1,750.00 TTD
- Driver's Permits/Licences that have been expired for more than 3 years but less than 5 years: $3,500.00 TTD
